To make a long story short, she's been feeling sick to her stomach the past few days and TUMS has not been working. She's also had other symptoms such as nausea and dizziness. Today, the pain moved from her whole stomach to the lower-right side of her abdomen. She was going to take a nap and try to sleep off the pain but decided to check her symptoms online. Her research yielded that her symptoms were very comparable with those of appendicitis. In fact, her symptoms were classic cases of the common illness.
Right now, we're sitting on the hospital bed typing this blog together. It's almost 10pm local time (9am EST), and awaiting a specialized doctor to affirm the necessity of surgery.
Please keep Beth-Anne (and myself) in your prayers. She's a little nervous because she's never been in surgery, particularly outside of the US in a hospital where only a handful of people speak broken English. But we are definitely blessed to have what we do. We certainly won't complain! God has already blessed us.
Here are the latest pictures from her camera - fresh off the card!
In the ER before we knew anything...well...you know, about the illness.
First IV ever! When it was translated into English via Korean cell phone, it came up as "sappy". What?!?! I'm gonna have 'sappy' put in me?
This is me - sick from all the needles.
Bear-Lee comforts Beth-Anne in a way no one can...as only a cuddly bear can. This is her after being admitted into the hospital.
Cleo (our rockin' Coordinator), and Ruth (another rockin' teacher), brought us some water, juice, and crackers. We thought it was no coincidence that the crackers said "IVY," and...look what's in Beth-Anne's arm...an "IV".
The following video I recorded while waiting at the subway station closes to the hospital:
Korean Comic Relief of the Day:
The nurses were asking Beth-Anne if she was allergic to anything or had different types of illness such as hypertension or asthma. They came to one and asked if she had the "killing disease". "The 'killing disease'?" we asked our Pastor who was helping to translate. He responded by touch my back and side saying, "these". Beth-Anne understood instantly, "Oh, kidney disease!"

the old man is not too happy about the appendicitis but is happy to have good help nearby..... and a loving husband!
Poor Beth-Anne! I will be praying for her as she recovers! I can't believe she can smile for the camera even when she is in the hospital! I hope that everything is going well!
