Marissa Mouse Ministry

Many people have wanted to know how they could help us, the school, or the family of Marissa Wilmoth. Here is simple yet effective way to make a lasting difference.

Visit Marissa Mouse Ministry - consider the different donations, make a choice and donate!

The website can explain it more fully, but essentially, Marissa loved mice. She really loved mice. So we are taking her love of mice and sending stuffed mice to classrooms of other children who lost a classmate. It will give them something to hold onto - letting them know that someone else understands their pain, and cares about them.

Thank you for taking the time to consider this, and helping out in a meaningful, lasting way.

Board Meetings

I, Matthew, just returned from a church board meeting. It went alright, but there were still a few moments of tension. Something was said to a board member that was, maybe true, but incorrectly said. Do you know what I mean?

Beth-Anne's grandfather has a saying that "you can be right, but dead wrong." Just because you may have the right to cross the road and expect cars to stop, that doesn't mean you shouldn't practice caution because they just might miss seeing you! Right, but dead wrong.

I think this happens in board meetings all across the world - church, school, hospital, business....the endless list. But it shouldn't happen in any of them. Especially in our church and school board meetings.

Jesus said that the world would know that we are His disciples by the way we love each other. Sometimes it seems that we are Satan's instruments instead of Jesus' disciples. Would we care to really see how often we have been used by Satan instead of God's Holy Spirit? I mean, really? I would probably be humbled.

We live in a world of sin, even among those practicing righteousness. No one will be 100% perfect except Jesus. So tonight, I'm resolving to try to help balance the wrong acts I see toward others. I am resolving to be God's damage control as often as I can. I may miss opportunities, and I will no doubt fail from time to time, but with this goal, a 50% success rate is better than never trying to encourage the discouraged and have a 0% rate of success.

Let's be the love of Jesus when others aren't showing it. Let's show that we are His disciples. And since I will inevitably hurt someone else's feelings, it will be reassuring to think that perhaps someone else will be there to cover up my misdeeds.

"Love covers a multitude of sins." "Do no be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

A Lot

Hello all, Beth-Anne has been very busy taking more graduate classes at Southern. Matthew had the opportunity to visit his parents for a week. A lot has happened and posts will follow shortly. For now, the Sabbath is wonderful. We are grateful for family, friends, and faith. Resting up and growing in knowledge.
